Mälardalen University has centrally located campuses in Eskilstuna and Västerås, in the heart of a rapidly expanding region around Lake Mälaren. The region features beautiful Swedish countryside with lakes, woods, and open fields, but also multinational companies such as ABB, Ericsson, and Volvo. Eskilstuna and Västerås are on either side of the lake and both cities are about one hour’s travel by train from Stockholm, the capital.

As a student here you always have a lot of fun things to do besides your studies. You can for example join the student sport association on their various practices, go hiking, shopping, or partying. Or why not enjoy a “fika” (Swedish for coffee brake) in one of the nice cafés downtown.

Our students are attractive on the labour market. Through high-quality education and cooperation with the surrounding community, we prepare you for work life. Our study programs are designed in cooperation with employers and are constantly evaluated by them – which helps to match our programs and courses with the demands of the professional world.
