Welcome to the University of Gävle and our network!

The University of Gävle was founded in 1977 and has a total of 12 000 registered students. We offer a number of 40 programmes and 1000 different courses to our students, and some 40% pursue their studies through distance education.

The University of Gävle offers several programmes and courses in English within different areas of studies such as engineering, business administration, teacher training and many more. The high percentage of academic staff with an international background contributes to the on-going internationalisation process. The University lies near the green area Boulogner Park and several sports facilities, and within walking distance from the city centre.

Gävle is a big harbour city and the county capital on the Swedish east coast, an 80-minute train ride north from Stockholm and 60 minutes from Arlanda International Airport. The municipality has 94 000 inhabitants and is a middle-sized city in Sweden.
