SwedenInTouch celebrates 1 year
Posted: 10/7/2009 1:52:34 PM
As of September 30 SwedenInTouch celebrates one year and we have taken the opportunity to celebrate this with some new features on the site.
The first and perhaps most notable one is that we have a new logo. The “Beta”-stamp is now gone to show that we now after a lot of testing, development and user feedback feel ready to say that the site is finished. We will of course continue to develop the network in the future.
We have also built a notifications tool. When you log in to your account you will see a list of things that has happened lately: Messages, someone answered your forum thread etc. You can receive these notifications to your inbox or use the RSS-feed.
We have also changed the network section somewhat. Now instead of the “Pictures” icon you will see one that says “Media” where you will find pictures and also video clips. In a first phase only network administrators will be able to upload video but if everything goes smoothly we can expand this feature so that all users can share their videos.
Your also find new adjustments to the calendar view and the all links in blogs and forums have now activated. Another improvement is that you can type in your own profile name together with the SwedenInTouch URL. For example: www.swedenintouch.se/firstnamne-surname (as indicated in your profile).
As with all major updates some functionality might take a little longer to update during the coming days but we are sorry for any inconvenience.
Comment below and let us know what you think about the new updates!
All the best/

News from SwedenInTouch
Posted: 6/25/2009 8:58:00 AM
With summer approaching here in Sweden we are very happy to welcome so many new members that have joined us over the last months. We are constantly working on improving the network in order to make it work even better for our members. During this spring we have implemented numerous new functions. Here are some examples:
-Improved privacy settings. This allows you to better control what information you want to share about yourself. You can also choose not be visible in Google searches.
- Spam filter. During the first months of 2009 we have had some problems with users sending out spam-messages to other members. We have therefore built a spam-filter that helps us control this.
-Networks. We have created a function for sub-networks that allows users to find the specific network that suites them. We have also started cooperating with several new Swedish universities that have started their own networks at SwedenInTouch.
-Invite a friend. You can now share SwedenInTouch with your friends.
We have also implemented several other changes that we hope will improve SwedenInTouch for you.
We are always happy to receive feedback from our members so please let us know if there is anything you are missing on the site.
On September 30 SwedenInTouch celebrates its first birthday and to celebrate this we are going to move from the beta version of the page. Keep your eyes open for all the interesting initiatives that will happen during the fall.
Have a nice summer!

Finding bugs
Posted: 1/7/2009 8:40:40 PM
We are still working with developing SwedenInTouch.se and we still only have a beta version. The reason for this is that every now and then we detect some bugs on the site.
One example of this is Alex Fatal’s latest blog post (the one published before this one). Go to Alex blog and you will see what I mean.
This is exactly why we need your input so that we can find all bugs and eventually fix them. If you notice a bug or something that does not seem to be working the way it should – send an email to swedenintouch@si.se or drop us a line in the “development forum”.
Take care,
Carl-Johan Nordlander

User testing
Posted: 11/26/2008 2:15:55 PM
We have recently finished doing user test of SwedenInTouch.se. These tests will tell us a lot of how you users perceive the site and what needs to be improved. We want to make this as relevant and useful for our users as possible because happy users make us happy as well.
Continue posting you views in the development forums. All the feedback we get is very valuable for us even though we might not always be able to fix everything at once.
All the best,
The SwedenInTouch.se team

Registration problems
Posted: 11/21/2008 3:04:39 PM
Dear SwedenInTouch.se users we are currently having some technical problems with our registration process. Many of you have not received a confirmation link after registration or when you actually did receive the link it was not working.
What has happened is that your registration actually was activated so if you press log in and enter your email address and your chosen password you can access your profile.
If you have any problems contact SwedenInTouch@si.se and we will try and help you as good as we can.
Hopefully the problem should be resolved soon we are terribly sorry about the inconvenience.
Have a nice weekend!

Posted: 11/17/2008 10:38:55 AM
Hi all SwedenInTouch.se members,
The site is as you all know still only in a beta version. We are working hard with improving the site and making it easier to use for all members.
As a part of this work we will conduct user tests in Stockholm this week. The testing will take approximately 1 hour and test users will receive a small remuneration for their work.
If you are interested sand an email to SwedenInTouch@si.se as soon as possible and we will send you more information.
/SwedenInTouch.se team!
